Title: Where Form Rises : Large-Scale Handbuilding

We will explore coiling and pinching techniques as tools to build a large, expressive vessel.
The focus is not perfection, but to develop structural awareness, precise hand control and to understand clay properties and its behavior.

Material : White rough stoneware containing small particles of pre-fired clay mixed into the clay body, called chamotte(grog).

Workshop guidelines : 

• Maximum dimensions : L20xW20xH30cm
• One main continuous volume
• Focus on structure before surface refinement
• Patience and moisture are essentials;)
• Start with sketching to visualize the ideas
• You can choose a matte glaze from 5 pastel colors 

After the workshop : 

• We will dry your work slowly under controlled conditions for about a week
• Undergo bisque firing
• Glazed
• Be fired again at high temperature

Estimated shipping time: approximately 3 months.

Large forms require steady attention.

Structure must be built patiently, layer after layer.

When the base is strong and with right amount of pressure the form rises on its own.

Where Form Rises：大型作品のハンドビルディング

コイル技法とピンチ技法を用いて、表現力のある大きな器の制作を行います。
完成度や完璧さを目指すのではなく、構造への理解、手の正確なコントロール、そして粘土の性質や動きを体感的に学ぶことに重点を置きます。

使用素材：
白色の粗めのストーンウェア。あらかじめ焼成された粘土粒子（シャモット／グロッグ）を含んだ土。

ワークショップガイドライン：
・最大サイズ：縦20 × 横20 × 高さ30cm
・ひとつの連続した造形で構成すること
・表面の滑らかな仕上げよりも、まず構造を重視します
・忍耐と水分管理が重要です
・制作前にスケッチを行い、イメージを可視化します
・マット釉薬（パステルカラー5色）から選択可能

ワークショップ後の工程：
・約1週間、管理された環境でゆっくり乾燥
・素焼き
・施釉
・高温焼成

大型作品の制作には、継続的で丁寧な注意が必要です。
構造は一層一層、忍耐強く積み重ねていきます。
土台がしっかりとし、適切な圧が加わったとき、
フォルムは自然と立ち上がっていきます。
