Ceramic Glaze Workshop

Theory & Practice

This special workshop is divided into two parts: a theoretical session and a hands-on practical experience.

Part 1: Theoretical Session
Learn the fundamentals of glaze chemistry, including the role of raw materials and minerals in glaze formulation. This session is designed to give you a deeper understanding of how glazes work and how their components affect texture, color, and finish.

Part 2: Practical Session
In the practical portion, you’ll learn how to mix your own glaze from raw materials and conduct simple experiments to discover your ideal glaze recipe.

Workshop Schedule

• Welcome Tea – 10 min
• Glaze Theory Lecture – 50 min
• Glaze Mixing Session – 40 min
• Glaze Application (on a bisque-fired cup or plate) – 20 min

After the workshop, your glazed piece will be fired in our kiln and shipped to your address.
Please note: shipping costs are not included in the workshop fee.
Delivery typically takes around one month.

 

陶芸釉薬ワークショップ – 理論と実践

この特別なワークショップは、「理論編」と「実技編」の二部構成となっています。

第1部：理論講座
釉薬の化学や、原料となる鉱物の役割について学びます。釉薬の基本的な構造や、色・質感・仕上がりに影響を与える要素について、理解を深めていただける内容です。

第2部：実技講座
実際に原材料を使って、自分だけの釉薬を調合する方法を学びます。理想の釉薬レシピを見つけるための、簡単な実験方法も体験します。

• 素焼きのカップまたはプレートへの施釉 – 20分

ワークショップ後、施釉した作品は窯で焼成し、ご自宅へ発送いたします。
